Anne M Carson is an Australian poet, essayist, creative writing teacher and independent researcher who lives close to the water on unceded Bunurong County. Her poetry has been published internationally, and widely in Australia over many years, receiving numerous awards including winning the Ada Cambridge Poetry Award (2026) and shortlisting in Women Authors New South Wales Poetry Prize (2024). Her fourth poetry publication is The Detective’s Chair: prose poems about fictional detectives (Liquid Amber Press 2023). George Sand (and Me): a poetic biography comprised part of her Creative Writing PhD (RMIT 2023); it was supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship, and received an Outstanding Dissertation Prize (American Educational Research Association, Visual and Performing Arts Special Interest Group, 2024).
