Darlene Silva Soberano interviews Mindy Gill

‘A lot of my poems end up being driven by a feeling, the desire to communicate something abstract in a concrete, resonant way—I look toward how language can do that, rather than structure. And I think that’s because I love the language of lyric poetry.’

Mindy Gill’s poems have appeared in Island Magazine, The Lifted Brow, Award Winning Australian Writing and the Queensland Art Gallery. She is a recipient of the Queensland Premier’s Young Writers and Publishers Award and is Peril Magazine’s editor-in-chief.

Darlene Silva Soberano is a Filipino poet. Their work has appeared in Mascara Literary Review, Australian Poetry, Cordite Poetry Review and Peril Magazine
