On Saturday 9th July 2011, the inaugural issue of RABBIT poetry journal was launched alongside STEAMER # 3 at Bella Union as part of the Poetry & the Contemporary Symposium. These launches were preceeded by those of Liam Ferney’s ‘Career’ and Duncan Hose’s ‘One Under Bacchus’. See below for photographs from the evening. On Wednesday October 26, at approximately 6.30pm, Rabbit # 2 (the food issue) was launched at The Alderman on Lygon Street in Brunswick East. There were readings from Ann Vickery, Allison Browning, Michael Farrell, Mark Prendergast, Zoe Dzunko as well as a musical poetry performance by Patrick Jones and Anthony Petrucci (Souls on Board). On Friday January 27 at approximately 6.30pm, Rabbit # 3 (the visual issue) was launched at Bella Union (Trades Hall) on Lygon Street, Carlton. Rabbit # 3 was launched in conjunction with Michael Farrell’s most recent chapbook Thou Sand (TinFish Press), birdlife (Lethologica Press) and Jessica L. Wilkinson’s first chapbook marionette:notes toward the life and times of miss marion davies (Vagabound). Attendees were treated to readings by Julie Maclean, Campbell Thomson, Pete Spence, Emily Stewart and Benjamin Laird. Some photographs from the evening are available below:
